Bio
Simon heads up the Board Services Practice at Damhurst.
He is responsible for delivering exceptional service and counsel to the firm’s clients as they shape and develop their Boards in an increasingly complex and regulated environment.
Prior to joining Damhurst, Simon spent 35 years in the sector and, as a result, he is now well known across the London and international (re)insurance markets. During that time he held several senior roles, including the Group CEO of MS Amlin and Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s.
In addition to his role at Damhurst, Simon sits on the Board of the UK P&I Club as an INED and he is Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights livery company.
Simon brings a wealth of experience to any conversation or client assignment. He has a highly strategic mind, is a natural leader and an excellent team player. He will often look to bring order and clarity to any situation, so all concerned are better positioned to find the best and most pragmatic solution.
On a personal level...
Simon lives with his wife Caroline and their four children in the Cotswolds. He has always been passionate about helping others, and in the summer of 2021 he decided to walk the 300-mile coast of Cornwall, raising over £60,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society, which perfectly sums up his character.
