James is our firm’s ultimate accountability champion, and as such still takes responsibility for leading many of our clients’ Search assignments himself.
He founded Damhurst in 2016 having had a vision of a very different solution for the insurance headhunting space.
What started out as an excellent foundation to his sector expertise – as a professional indemnity insurance broker at Heath Lambert, and later at Alexander Forbes – turned into a highly focused career in insurance Executive Search which saw him rise to Partner and then Head of London for global Search specialists, Eliot Partnership, over the ten years prior to launching Damhurst.
In addition to his role at Damhurst, James sits on the Board of the Lloyd’s Benevolent Fund, a charity providing support to those in our market who have fallen on hard times. He is Non-Executive Director to the energy renewable search firm Walter Hewitt. He is also a former Chair of the City of London Club U40s and a General Committee Member.
James is direct, driven, and passionate about his team, his firm and his sector. He positively embraces a challenge and has an innate ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
On a personal level...
James lives in Kent with his wife and three daughters. When time (and the weather) permits he loves being outdoors, hiking, camping, competing in field sports, and tinkering with old Land Rover Defenders.
