Former MS Amlin CEO Simon Beale joins Damhurst to lead NED practice

Damhurst, one of the leading insurance headhunting firms, has appointed Simon Beale as Director with immediate effect. The former MS Amlin CEO will lead the firm’s non-executive search practice.

Beale joins the Damhurst board following the appointment of Andrew Darfoor as non-executive chairman in September. Both appointments form part of a wider strategy for Damhurst to increase the scope of client services and to build an even stronger and more dynamic team to drive the firm’s future growth.

James Cooper, director and founder of Damhurst said: “We’re delighted to have someone with Simon’s background and reputation join the Damhurst team. His leadership experience and c-suite credentials position him perfectly to head up our non-executive search practice while also helping drive Damhurst’s future strategy. Beale joined the Lloyd’s market in 1984 and Amlin in 1994. He became CUO in 2012 before becoming Group CEO of MS Amlin in 2018.  He was appointed to the Council of Lloyd’s in 2012 and a Deputy Chairman in 2016. After stepping down as CEO of MS Amlin at the end of 2019 Beale continued as an adviser to MSI until March 2021.
